How time flies; it is June - mid-2019 - already and we are counting down to our Couples’ Getaway at Pigeon Lake. Yay!! Okay, let’s pick up where we stopped last month (click here for the May W2NM newsletter). We started a discussion last month on what to do when it seems like nothing is working in life or when we believe and are standing in faith for a promise of God and yet it has not come to pass. You have prayed, you have confessed the Word, you have praised, and yet nothing seems to be changing. Why the delay? Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. (Proverbs 13:12 KJV).
God is not holding out on you. When we stand in faith for our breakthrough, we must realize that though we are not facing life’s challenges alone God has assigned us a part to play. We all know we can do nothing without God, but do you know that He will do nothing without you? The Bible declares that we are joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17 KJV). This can be likened to cashing a cheque from a joint account. It will not be honored without the signature of both parties. Jesus has done His part by obtaining for us all that pertains to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:23 KJV). But God needs our participation for us to cash in on all Jesus obtained for us in His redemption. The way you endorse your part of the cheque is to ‘only believe’. Believe the Word of God and act as if it were true like Abraham did with God’s promise. Abraham did not consider his body (focus) and he called the things that be not as though they were. Jesus has already signed His name to every promise in the Word and you are the joint heir or joint signatory of that promise. It was the blood of Jesus that paid the price for that promise and it was paid in full. You are not waiting for Him, He is waiting for you.
Ephesians 3:20 KJV - God will display His awesome power through you; that is His desire; that is His intention. He will do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think according to His power at work in us. His power at work in our lives must be released by us. How? Through our believing. When we believe we also speak or confess (Romans 10:10 KJV). He has restored to you and me, dominion in the earth and He will work with us and through us (Genesis 1:26 KJV). You, child of God are the missing piece. Your voice declaring in thanksgiving all Jesus has done; your voice speaking the Word of God and not the circumstances; your heart meditating in season and out of season on the promise of God – that’s what is required for the manifestation of the promise.
Ephesians 6:13 Amplified states that, “Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]”.
