Last month we discussed the topic of ‘unbelief- the enemy of faith’ and ended the discussion with the bold statement that, ‘the prayer of faith always ends with thanksgiving’. This month we want to talk about the ‘language of faith’. Yes, faith does have a language of its own. Do not doubt it – faith does have a language; faith speaks. 2 Corinthians 4:13 (KJV) “We the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” [emphasis mine].
When we believe or are in faith, we speak; Faith always speaks. To know how faith speaks, we only have to learn how God speaks, as He is the Author of our faith (Galatians 2:20). How God speaks is not hidden from have the documented evidence of how He speaks – His Word, the Bible. God’s Word was spoken by Him to the prophets and priests of it could be written; it was written so it can be spoken – by we His children. It is a great privilege that has been given to us to speak the Word of God, for the Word of God is the vehicle or the carrier of God’s authority. In Isaiah 55:11 (KJV) God promises that His Word will not return will accomplish what God pleases and shall also prosper in the thing it is sent to do. We have the assurance or the guarantee of God that the Word of God will bring to pass His promise.
Based on this guarantee of God, what then are we to do from when we declare the promise and say ‘amen’ till we see the manifestation of the promise? We are to speak. Speak, child of God, speak. Speak in faith. Speak what God says. Speak the promise not the problem. Speak in thanksgiving and don’t’ consult your feelings. Speak boldly, because from the moment you asked in faith, it was done. Your mountains need to hear your voice (Mark 11:23-24). Speak because you are the prophet of your own life. The language of faith is the Word of faith. In the language of no room for failure. This is because faith is not in that which is desired. in God Who promised. This means we are not looking at the desired promise, we are looking the God of the promise. The more faith looks, focuses on, considers God, the more God is magnified and the more in awe we should become. Awe brings about rejoicing, wonder in our hearts, laughter, and high and lofty declarations of Who God who is.
If someone you truly trust in and who you believe loves you wholeheartedly and who you knew to be very wealthy were to die and leave you an inheritance in a will, would you trust that what has been left to you is now yours? What if someone who has never lied to you, who always follows through with every promise and who loves you unreservedly makes you a promise, will you believe it? I would hope you answered yes to both questions as none of those imaginary people measure up to our Father God, who loves us with a love that cannot be measured and cannot be denied. You have a 100% guarantee from the Living God, so it is time to speak. If you do indeed have a 100% guarantee, what should you do? Rejoice! Make a joyful noise! Give thanks. This is the language of faith. The results we desire are not based on the size of our faith but faith in the size of our God.
Yours in His service,
